Apryl Swafford began her nursing career in 1994, obtaining her BSN from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala. Her tenure as a home health nurse began in 1997 where she worked in multiple positions including field case management, clinical management, and as a team leader of a cardiopulmonary specialty program.

During those years, she was responsible for providing direct patient care and chart audits, OASIS review, and coding while managing a team of nurses, therapists, and home health aides. She is certified in ICD-10 coding, hospice coding, and OASIS and currently works as Team Manager for SimiTree Healthcare Consulting. She puts her certifications to good use reviewing charts along with leading a team of auditors and interacting with agencies across the country. She is also engaged in speaking at various conferences and agencies where she provides education on topics of interest in this fast-paced, ever-changing home health industry.
