Judy Silverstein

Special Needs Consultant, Florida Department of Health

Judy Silverstein, MPH, MAOM, is a member of the Regional Preparedness Team for the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in the Tampa Bay Region. She is the Special Needs Consultant for the DOH, a role in which she collaborates with members of the health care sector to prepare our most medically vulnerable clients and community members during disasters. To achieve community preparedness for disasters, she works with DOH emergency planners and community stakeholders. Together, they assess challenges, consult about planning approaches, and identify considerations for sheltering and evacuating special needs clients. Her work also includes training for those who staff special needs shelters.
