Kathy Harrison, RN, BSN, is the Chief Nursing Officer for the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida. Kathy’s 23-year career in nursing encompassed emergency room care, orthopedics, and medical surgery before she found her ideal calling in home health care 15 years ago. Supervising nearly 1,000 clinicians — including overseeing ongoing education and currency with key guidelines and regulations — Kathy embraces her role of ensuring the highest quality care is given to each patient.
Repeated metrics attest to the success of Kathy’s methodology and leadership in maintaining and improving upon VNA of Florida’s 45-year record of ranking among the top 7% of home health care providers in the nation at preventing rehospitalization. In addition to frequent Five- and 4.5-Star Ratings in the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) program for measuring home health agencies, VNA of Florida also regularly attains high marks from Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HHCAHPS). Kathy works to ensure it consistently ranks nationwide among the top 20% of high-patient satisfaction ratings.

Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.
