How many people attend HCAF's Annual Conference & Trade Show?

Each year our Annual Conference & Trade Show keeps getting better! Last year we hosted 700 attendees. You can expect the audience to represent a wide array of organizational sizes and structures, such as large, vertically-integrated systems, hospital-based agencies, chain, and freestanding organizations. These organizations are for-profit and not-for-profit, urban and rural, and are reimbursed by a variety of sources, including: Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and consumer-paid. Attendees typically have degrees in nursing, therapy, business, health services administration, or other related areas.

What is the conference theme?

This year's theme is Unleash Your Inner Superhero. We are hoping all of the sessions will be presented in an optimistic light and attitude, but realistic as well. Our expectation/request to you is that no session spend any major time on overviews. Please assume that your audience has been engaged in the latest changes and your specific topic already. Your audience will want to know what practical strategies work successfully, what resources and tools are available for best practice and how they can start implementing or improving today.

Request for all sessions:

  • Do NOT spend any major time on overviews. Assume the audience has been engaged in your specific topic already.

  • Present in optimistic light and attitude, but realistic as well.

  • Impart new information on the latest trends and changes in the industry.

  • Share promising practical strategies, tools, resources and best practices for success and growth.

  • Depict creative programs and services and demonstrate innovative ideas and solutions that the audience can start implementing or improving today.

  • Use home care examples whenever possible. Resist using the word hospice unless absolutely necessary.

  • Please include benchmarking data whenever possible.

  • Incorporate our theme. Click here for details.

Will I be compensated for speaking?

As a not-for-profit organization, HCAF is unable to pay honorarium, travel, separate meal, lodging, or per diem costs to speakers. However, HCAF is pleased to offer presenters a complimentary conference registration that includes a number of food and beverage breaks and daytime meals. This free pass covers both our pre-conference and our regular conference sessions that run Sunday through Wednesday. Substitutions for free registrations are not permitted.

How do I register for the conference?

Please click here and let us know the date(s) and meal(s) that you plan to attend no later than July 6, so that we are aware that you will be taking advantage of this opportunity and include you in our catering, seating, and handout counts. Eventually, you will receive an invoice with a balance for attending the conference from Julia Heath at jheath@homecarefla.org. Please disregard this invoice. We need to create the registration before our system allows us to comp it.

What audio and visual resources will be available for my presentation?

All presentation rooms will have a laptop computer, LCD projector, screen, lavaliere microphone, podium, and remote control to advance your slides. If you need anything else, please let us know. If you plan not to use this equipment, please let us know that as well.
