FAQ's
ONCE I HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED AS A SPEAKER, WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO SUBMIT TO HCAF?

HOW MANY PEOPLE ATTEND HCAF'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW?

Each year our Annual Conference & Trade Show keeps getting better! Last year we hosted 700 attendees. You can expect the audience to represent a wide array of organizational sizes and structures, such as large, vertically integrated systems, hospital-based home care agencies, to chain or freestanding organizations. These organizations are for-profit and not-for-profit, urban and rural, and are reimbursed by a variety of sources, including: Medicare; Medicaid; Private Insurance, and Private Pay. Attendees typically have degrees in nursing, therapy, business, health services administration or other related areas.

 

WHAT'S THE CONFERENCE THEME THIS YEAR?

“Turning the Tide” (We wanted an ocean theme since we’ll be at Sea World…)

We are hoping all of the sessions will be presented in an optimistic light and attitude, but realistic as well.  Our expectation/request to you is that NO session will spend any major time on overviews, whatsoever. Please assume that your audience has been engaged in the latest changes and your specific topic already. Your audience will want to know what strategies work successfully, and you can let the rest go out to sea! 

 
WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR SPEAKING?

As a nonprofit organization, HCAF is unable to pay honorarium, travel, separate meal, lodging or per diem costs to speakers.  However, HCAF is pleased to offer presenters a FREE conference registration that includes a number of food and beverage breaks and daytime meals. Substitutions for free registrations are not permitted.

 

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE WITH MY FREE SPEAKER BENEFIT?

Please email Julia Heath to let us know the date(s) and meal(s) that you plan to attend no later than July 8th, so that we are aware that you will be taking advantage of this opportunity and include you in our catering, seating and handout counts. 

 

WHAT A.V. RESOURCES WILL HCAF HAVE AVAILABLE FOR MY SESSION?

All presentation rooms will have a laptop, LCD projector, screen, a lavaliere microphone, podium and a remote control available to advance your slides. If you need anything else, please let us know. If you plan not to use this equipment, please let us know that as well.
