Lisa earned a Master’s Degree in Hospital and Health Care Administration from the University of Minnesota and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Long-Term Health Care Administration and Business Administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.  Ms. Abicht-Swensen’s more than 30 years of experience in health care administration spans the long term care and hospice/home health care professions.  A comprehensive knowledge of home care and hospice operations, combined with a passion for excellence in care and service delivery make her a sought after expert in post-acute care consulting.  An accomplished speaker and writer, Ms. Abicht-Swensen has been published in numerous Journals including the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care.

Cathleen Armato, RN, CHC, CHPC, CHPN, CHPCA

Ms. Armato is an experienced executive with 16 years in the delivery of health care services in the private and non-profit sector.  For the past 2 years she has served as an OIG Corporate Monitor. She held senior level positions including Vice President of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer for multi-state providers. Cat has worked closely with Boards of Directors, senior and local leadership, and investor groups. 

 

Cat’s expertise includes compliance program development utilizing OIG Compliance Guidance, policy development, integration of acquisitions and mergers, leadership development, clinical and compliance education, independent review for Corporate Integrity Agreements, and due diligence.  She has experience working with Medicare Administrative Contractors, Zone Program Integrity Contractors, Medicaid Integrity Contractors, Specialty Medical Review Contractors, Administrative Law Judges, and State Attorneys General.

Nancy is a certified Clinical Specialist in Home Health with the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and a Certified Care Manager. For the last two years Nancy has served as a Corporate Integrity Monitor for the Office of Inspector General.  She was an ACHC surveyor and was qualified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a state surveyor. She has been a Medicare Hearing Officer for the Medicare Fair Hearing Department of CMS where she conducted, and adjudicated federal administrative hearings. She is a Certified CHAP consultant. 

 

Recently she has served under the University of Hawaii as an educator and resource to the Ministry of Health in the Republic of Palau in the development of a home care program.  She is a contributing author to the Handbook for Home Health Administration and numerous other articles in National Home Care publications. Her recently updated book “Survivor! Ten Practical Steps to Survey Survival” has helped many achieve deficiency free surveys.

Glenda started her home care career in Nashville, Tennessee providing visits to patients in a variety of settings from very rural to inner city areas. Glenda is founder, owner and primary registered nurse consultant for Alternatives, A Consulting and Education Service. Her company provides expertise in consulting services to health care organizations throughout the United States and she is a recognized expert in the areas of federal and various state regulatory compliance requirements, fraud and abuse issues, preparation of clinical defense documentation for appeals, as well as corporate compliance planning, program development, education and implementation.
